En FICAL seguimos apostando por la música y por disfrutar de los clásicos del cine mudo en pantalla grande con una banda sonora de lujo al piano. De nuevo creamos una experiencia inolvidable que nos remonta a los orígenes del cinematógrafo y que recorre diferentes municipios almerienses.
En esta ocasión, Pablo Mazuecos pondrá la banda sonora a dos películas de sendos grandes creadores: El inmigrante, de Charles Chaplin, y El espantapájaros, de Buster Keaton. Como guinda del pastel, se presenta La batalla del siglo también conocida en castellano como Guerra de pasteles, para que el público finalice la experiencia a carcajadas.
At FICAL our commitment to music and to enjoying the classics of silent films on the big screen with a deluxe piano soundtrack continues. Once again, we are creating an unforgettable experience that takes us back to the origins of the cinematograph, touring different towns in Almería.
On this occasion, Pablo Mazuecos will provide the soundtrack to two films by two great creators: The Immigrant, by Charles Chaplin, and The Scarecrow, by Buster Keaton. As icing on the cake, The Battle of the Century will be submitted for the audience to end the experience laughing out loud.

Los peones Keaton y Roberts comparten una cabaña llena de dispositivos mecánicos que facilitan la vida. Ambos son rivales por el amor de la hija del granjero. Disfrazado de espantapájaros, Keaton causa problemas tanto a su rival como al granjero. Cuando Keaton se agacha para atarse el zapato, la chica cree, por error, que se está arrodillando para proponerle matrimonio, y acepta.
Farmhands Keaton and Roberts share a cottage full of mechanical devices for making life easy. They are rivals for the farmer’s daughter. Keaton, disguised as a scarecrow, causes troubles for his rival and the farmer. When Keaton stoops to tie his shoe, the girl accepts what she thinks is his kneeling proposal.

Un inmigrante viaja a Estados Unidos en un barco desde Europa, acompañado de otras personas que como él van en busca de una vida mejor. Durante la travesía es injustamente acusado de robar a una chica que viaja con su anciana madre. Traba amistad con ella, ya que en realidad lo que ha pasado es que ha intentado ayudarla dejándole dinero en el bolsillo de su chaqueta.
An immigrant arrives in the United States on a ship from Europe, accompanied by others who, like him, are seeking a better life. During the journey, he is unfairly accused of stealing from a young woman traveling with her elderly mother. He befriends her, as what actually happened is that he tried to help her by leaving money in her jacket pocket.

Hardy es representante de Laurel, un boxeador débil, y con la esperanza de obtener ganancias, le saca un seguro. En un giro cómico, Hardy intenta provocar una serie de accidentes para cobrar la póliza. Cuando un repartidor de pasteles resbala con una cáscara de plátano destinada al boxeador, se desencadena una de las escenas de lanzamiento de pasteles más legendarias en la historia del cine cómico.
Hardy, who manages a weak boxer (Laurel) and, hoping for profit, takes out an insurance policy on him. In a comedic turn, Hardy attempts to arrange a series of accidents for his fighter to collect on the policy. When a pie delivery man slips on a banana peel intended for the boxer, the story escalates into one of the most legendary slapstick pie-throwing scenes in cinema history.

Pianista y divulgador cultural, comenzó su carrera profesional en Almería. Músico versátil, ha explorado estilos que van desde la música clásica al jazz y la música creativa. Creó la Fundación Indaliana para la Música y las Artes, más conocida como Clasijazz.
Actualmente dirige diferentes big bands, es intérprete activo de diferentes agrupaciones musicales e imparte clases en el Real Conservatorio de Música de Almería.
This musician and cultural disseminator began his professional career in Almería. A versatile pianist, he has worked in styles ranging from classical music to jazz and creative music. He was also the promoter of the Fundación Indaliana para la Música y las Artes, better known as Clasijazz.
He is currently conducting different big bands, is an active performer in different musical groups and teaches at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Almería.
